We live in a complex society, which is a gross understatement - December 2007, the reaction to the realities that China is shipping toys that may endanger American children. The panicked reaction was certainly justified.
I would like to reflect for a moment. The apathy and lack of concern demonstrated by the American public is frightening considering that more than 90 percent of the stuffed animals for Christmas, Easter and thousands upon thousands of other products, religious statues, memorabilia, food products, are shipped every day from China.
Oh yes, I don't want to forget a little trivia. In the past five years, the Chinese government with slave labor has shipped approximately $100 billion of steel products to the United States. Our government paid the bill. For the sake of charity, you and I foot the bill.
In my opinion, there is a certain segment of our society with a warped sense of priorities.

prefer to by made in the USA, BUT
there is noway to do that on all items.
Most likely even if I did research all the USA products I buy, somehow I would still find some out-of-the-country person/company had a pinky in it.
