Government unionsare acting selfish

It's very disturbing that as New York's private sector is fighting for its life, unions for government workers fight to keep paying positions that have become redundant, basically residing in the “work project” file: handouts.
To become more efficient, Albany is trying to consolidate and close juvenile detention centers and prisons, only to be met by union lobbyists, undoubtedly with campaign contributions in hand, who don't want the state to move in the direction of efficiency. Disgusting.

Unions for government workers in this state have gone way beyond disregard for the taxpayers; they have total disdain for their benefactors. Taxes are through the roof, the economy is in shambles, the state of New York is over $50 billion in debt and these unions keep insisting that the workers they represent be insulated from reality.

Reality is right around the corner. Hold on tight.
