The principal of Cato-Meridian High School will be leaving his job at the end of the academic year.
Joseph Coleman has submitted a letter of resignation requesting an official end date of June 30, according to district superintendent Deborah Bobo.
Coleman joined the district as principal in June 2006, coming out of retirement from his previous role as superintendent of the LaFayette Central School District, Bobo said.
Once the board of education accepts the resignation - expected during the March 25 meeting - Bobo said she will be advertising in various venues as well as organizing a committee comprised of administrators, teachers, teacher assistants, board and community members to review applicants.
Bobo is hoping to appoint a new principal in June for a start date of July 1.
