AUBURN - A Rochester man withdrew his plea of not guilty in Cayuga County Court Tuesday and admitted to two counts of selling cocaine on two separate instances in Auburn.
Reginald Lawson, 50, of 28 Danforth St., Rochester, faces two concurrent three-year prison sentences with two years post-release supervision for the felony charges of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.
The sales took place in July and October to a confidential informant at an apartment in Auburn.
Lawson's accomplice in the October sale of cocaine, Michele Flowers, 47, of 28 Danforth St., Rochester, also pleaded guilty.
Flowers faces a 2.5-year prison sentence with up to two years post-release supervision for the fifth-degree felony sale of a controlled substance. Flowers has a previous violent felony conviction stemming from a 1995 robbery.
Both Flowers and Lawson will be sentenced on April 29.
Also in court:
Cayuga County Court Judge Mark Fandrich refused to allow an Auburn man to be sentenced as a youthful offender for his role in the burglary of a local business.
Fandrich said it would be inappropriate to grant Charles Allen, 20, of 2465 Dublin Road, Auburn, a youthful offender status considering his juvenile record which includes the fire-bombing of an Auburn Police Department patrol car.
Fandrich sentenced Allen to one year in the Cayuga County Jail for the burglary in which he helped to steal more than $1,300 in paint ball equipment and set a restitution hearing for today.
A local man's case was adjourned to give him time to review a plea waiver.
Joshua Jones, 26, of 122 S. Fulton St., Auburn, could receive two years in prison for the third-degree sale of a controlled substance. The waiver would take care of two other pending drug charges.
A Florida man still must take care of his third-degree burglary charges in Cayuga County before he can be sent to Florida on a warrant.
Samuel Bulla, 29, of 4212 33rd St., Ruskin, Fla., was given a two-week adjournment to review a plea offer for his role in the burglary.
Bulla was told he could not be promised a shock camp prison term like he wanted because he has a prior felony conviction.
