Gomez leads team in 700 Trios
Chris Gomez rolled a 779 series, including a 300 game, as his team captured the 700 Club Trios event Sunday at Cedar House Lanes.
Michelle Feldman (713) and Colby Stejbach (673) rounded out the winning team, which fired 2,165 and shared the $180 top prize.
Rick Liccion also had a perfect game and shot a tournament-high 790. His teammates Mike Ryan (694) and Steve Suslik (616) brought the total to 2,100, good for second place and $120.
The team of Gary Feldman Jr. (735), Bob Clarke (676) and Todd Wilcox (654) finished third (2,065, $90).
Finishing fourth (2,042, $80) were Eric Wheeler (747), Joe Chekansky (676) and Jason Horbal (619), while fifth place (2,020, $30) belonged to John Walters (685), John Ashby (678) and Brandon Slayton (657).
Other top individual shooters were J.T. Locastro (715), Rick Lambrecht (687) and Keith Thomas (682).
Twelve teams competed. Pizza and snacks were served after bowling, compliments of the 700 Club and Sean Mott, the Cedar House owner.
Storrs benefit April 13
A benefit for Brian Storrs, who needs a kidney transplant, will be Sunday, April 13 at the Ukrainian National Club from 1 to 5 p.m. A pasta dinner will be served, and there will be raffles and door prizes. The donation is $10.
No-Tap continues at King Ferry
The ninth annual King Ferry Lanes No-Tap Team Handicap Tournament will run every Tuesday and Sunday throughout March. Five-person teams may have any combination of men and women, and there is a maximum average of 1,050.
The event costs $150 per team, and first prize is $1,000. Handicap is 80 percent of 200. Squads on Tuesdays are 7 and 9 p.m., while Sunday squads are 10 a.m. and noon. Teams should reserve a spot by calling Bill Dockstader at 364-8009.
