A high speed pursuit that started in Wayne County made its way into Cayuga County where state police ended the chase by shooting out the vehicle's tires, according to a spokesman from the New York State Police.
The three men in the car were arrested in Conquest on the suspicion of drunk driving and operating a vehicle with a suspended license. Wayne County Sheriff officials called for assistance from the state police and the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office but managed to end the pursuit before additional officers arrived, the Cayuga County Sheriff's office said.
In a separate case, the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office is helping the New York State Police investigate a crash at the Sterling Park and Nature Center.
A car drove off the park's bluff and fell more than 40 feet to the shoreline below just before noon on Monday. Fair Haven firefighters, who responded to the scene, said the car was empty and police were investigating what caused the car to drive off the bluff.
A tow truck was brought in to pull the vehicle back up the steep embankment.
There was no environmental damage as a result of the crash, firefighters said.
