About Governor Spitzer. Is it really that newsworthy? Has his confessed marital infidelity actually robbed him of all the skill he had before this revelation? That is doubtful.
I suppose some might say; “He broke the law.” Well I guess he did. I am not all that concerned about that. I bet some of you reading this have done that.
But yet, this revelation of his sexual appetite has garnered an awful lot of newspaper space and air time on the broadcast media.
I suppose some are outraged at this activity as it is a violation of one of The Ten Commandments that was meant to preserve the integrity of the marriage relationship. It certainly did compromise his marriage relationship.
However compare it to this. The present resident of the White House lied to the American public, also a violation of one of the commandments. He conspired with others in his cabinet to deceive the American public into agreeing to a war the grounds of which have since been found to be non-existent, and fraudulently portrayed. As a result, by some estimates up to 300,000 human beings have died. This by any understanding of the word is killing, which is a violation of another of the commandments. Many think it was an act of imperialism, which is a violation of another of the commandments about coveting the things other people have. Add to this the mistreatment of American wounded when they are sent home unfit for life.
So I'm asking why the media hasn't given this activity as much tabloid like exposure as is given to a simple case of sexual misconduct.
I think those activities are a lot worse than a married man paying for sex with a prostitute.

You didn't address one point I made. Inflation for Feb. 2008 was at 4.08%, in Jan. 2008 it was 4.28%. The inflation rate for 2007 was 2.85%. Once again I have the numbers to back up what I stated, you have nothing but nonsense, conspiricy, conjecture and tried to change the subject due to the fact that you haven't got a thing to back up your claim. Prove to us that the spending on the war has contributed to what is happening now with regard to the slump. I'd be interested in seeing your facts and figures (and not something from prisonplanet, Huff Post or Kos). "

Try to see past your incompassion and hatred for perceived "slackers". I agree with you about irresponsible buyers. But the economy would STILL be in crappy shape without them. The War is KILLING our economy, and it's NOT the worst yet--did you see the news that this mat be the worst financial crisis since WWII? Even some are saying that it may be another 1929--and not because of the mortgage crunch, but because of the devaluing of the dollar. And THAT has a lot to do with the amount of foreign debt we hold.
It amazes me that you can still seem to be crowing about a "strong economy" if I'm reading you right?
BTW, I may be wrong, but wasn't it the Republicans who removed oversight and regulatory controls from such predatory financial institutions that might've otherwise been constrained and restrained from making such greedy actions taking advantage of new and inexperienced homeowners? "

I bought a house I could afford with a fixed interest rate. Its not Bush's fault the mortgage lenders made a fast buck selling to people they knew couldn't afford the payments when their variable mortgage rates increased. And what about the reponsibility of the homeowner? Why should I have to pay because that person was an idiot and knowingly bought a house they couldn't afford?

We can only hope the new Governor is a bit more upright, in public and in private. We don't need any more progress-derailing skeletons in the closet. "

As I'm sitting here watching the news today about the absolutely dismal and frighteni9ng state of the US economy--which is ALL BECAUSE OF THE WAR!--I can't believe that Congress is not breaking down the door to the Oval Office and hauling this scumbag out in chains and prosecuting him!
Same goes for Cheney, Rove, Rumsfeld, and the lot of criminals who have hijacked this government and this great country!
America is in danger of becoming like the Japanese--in denial of their own culpability in the demise of their own nation and stature after WWII. America should be prosecuting these criminals and apologizing to the world. It is time for a new Nuremberg!!!!!!!! "
