Two Cents

Everything was just fine till the Dems took over one year ago, and if you want things to get really bad, elect some more in November. They blame everybody but themselves.

If Eliot Spitzer was No. 9 in this prostitution ring, who would the other eight politicians be ahead of him?

Can smokers demand a portion of their tax dollars to be removed off their county bill for the building (they pay for) and up to 35 feet away?

If the firemen didn't go on emergency calls they would probably have 10 calls a year for house fires. They are overpaid as it is as I think I could find someone to cut the grass and wash the fire truck for $1,000 a week.

The public is finally wising up and seeing that the reason The Citizen is covering up for Quill, Brower and McNabb and is not reporting all the terrible things they are doing, is because Cosentino is getting these secret land deals and everything else, all these favors from Quill, Brower and McNabb.

When are the people going to realize that it's not about turf and the kids, it's about the salesmen and the commissions.

" "Everything was fine until the dems took over 1 year ago???!!!" What state do you live in, certainly not NY. With the highest taxes, substandard services, and businesses leaving left and right for the past 10 years, I don't think you can blame the current situation on the democrats who have only been in power for one year. Or are you talking about the country? Did you think everything was fine 13 motnhs ago? You do realize we're at the 5th anniversary of the war in Iraq?
Get your head out of the sand and try to do something constructive instead of making stupid remarks. "

" Everyone is complaining about Streets. Well let me add one to it East Genesee Street from Seward Avenue to the City of Auburn line is Disgusting. It is so rough that you could loose a car in it. I realize that it is under construction, but come on that's rediculious. "

" Farmer's gal.. I agree with you on the road contruction. Every year it's the SAME bidder that wins! "

" South Street is awful, and yes, I remember how long it was torn up and under construction -- which must have cost a small fortune. Too bad they didn't do the job right and here it is, only a couple years later, and it's already as bad a mess as it was before.

Is it really snowplows, or was the construction just not done right in the first place? Or maybe both?

BTW, when someone dies, s/he is usually buried in a coffin, the kind into which nails were driven in the old days. "

" Even if the turf is replaced in ten years the savings in seeding, fertilizing, watering, mowing and lack of heavy use will more than pay for future replacement costs. But will they put aside these savings for future replacement expense? Probably not. But as taxpayers you should see that they do. "

" yetanotherpinhead - Have you ever tried shoveling a sidewalk and the shovel happens to get stuck? Exact same thing when a plow hits an existing pot hole or bump in the road. "

" I'm disturbed by all the snowplow road damage I'm seeing in Auburn this late Winter. Some roads that were just paved this past Fall have fairly deep lateral "slashes" in them from the plow blade crashing along the road. Is this a result of blades being positioned improperly, or plow drivers going too fast? I can't imagine it is unavoidable damage.

I was also stunned by the poor state of South St, which now has damage and potholes aplenty. It wasn't more than a handful of years ago this road was completely reconstructed, right? Brutal! "
