UTICA -- Jury selection is under way in the murder trial of a 24-year-old man charged in the ambush murder of a Utica police officer last April.
Thomas Lindsey, a 32-year-old former Marine and six-year police veteran, was shot from behind just after pulling over a car for a traffic violation.
Oneida County prosecutors say Wesley Molina-Cirino is the man who pulled the trigger.
But defense attorney Rebecca Wittman says Molina-Cirino didn't kill Lindsey.
Wittman says she has her doubts about Sammy Rivera, the man Lindsey pulled over just before he was shot to death. Rivera is the prosecution's key witness against Molina-Cirino.
