Don't plan on fueling up at the Clifton Springs Travel Plaza for the next few months if you're traveling on the New York State Thruway.
Starting Monday, that travel plaza and the plaza in Sloatsburg on Interstate 87 will be undergoing fuel service renovation projects that are expected to be finished by Memorial Day.
The Clifton Springs plaza is located on Interstate 90 east, between exits 43 and 42. Motorists heading on the Thruway in that direction will be advised on road signs that the next available fuel station will be at the Port Byron Travel Plaza, between exits 41 and 40.
The renovations are part of Sunoco Inc.'s plan to upgrade all of its travel plazas. Planned work includes tank replacements, several new convenience stores, new fueling islands, canopy renovations and environmental upgrades.
Food and restroom services will continue to be available at the project sites.
