Pilat Design wins team event
Pilat Graphic Design rolled a 3,581 team handicap total to win first place and $800 in the Auburn USBC Championships at Rainbow Lanes.
Other top handicap finishers were Long Shots (3,571, $650), DB's Twisted 5 (3569, $500), Rizzo's All Stars (3,514, $400), Sunset Restaurant (3,512, $300), RJ Contracting Co. (3,483, $225), C&L Carpet (3,479, $150) and Rick's Lawn Service (3,470, $100).
In the scratch division, Bowler's Choice Pro Shop #2 finished first (3,429, $200), followed by Pete Weber's Team (3,406, $150) and Rainbow Lanes (3,381, $100).
The singles and doubles begin Friday at Cedar House Lanes with a 9:30 p.m. squad. Play continues Saturday and Sunday with squads at noon and 3 p.m. each day. Bowlers may walk on. Call Mike Ryan at 730-2901 for more information.
No-Tap tourney begins Friday
The ninth annual King Ferry Lanes No-Tap Team Handicap Tournament begins on Friday and will run every Tuesday and Sunday throughout the month. Five-person teams may have any combination of men and women, and there is a maximum average of 1,050.
The event costs $150 per team, and first prize is $1,000. Handicap is 80 percent of 200. Squads on Tuesdays are 7 and 9 p.m., while Sunday squads are 10 a.m. and noon.
The top six qualifying teams will roll off March 25 at 7 p.m. Flyers are available at all area bowling centers. Teams should reserve a spot by calling Bill Dockstader at 364-8009.
