A Cayuga County jury found a Rochester man guilty Wednesday night of third-degree criminal possession of drugs.
Kevin Henry, 36, was arrested in December 2006 when Auburn police arrived at 7401 Owasco St., Auburn, to carry out a search warrant for drugs. Police saw Henry throw a blue candy container, which he used to store drugs, under a car and found a small bag of marijuana and more than 500 milligrams of cocaine inside.
Henry has a prior felony conviction in Rochester for possessing two loaded hand guns and running away from police. Henry will receive a 2.5 to 4.5 year sentence when he is sentenced on April 22.
Also in court:
Michele Flowers, 47, of 28 Danforth St., Rochester, pleaded not guilty to fourth-degree conspiracy, two counts of third-degree sale of a criminal substance and third-degree possession of a criminal substance.
No bail was set.
Reginald Lawson 49, of 28 Danforth St., Rochester, pleaded not guilty to third-degree possession of a controlled substance and the second-degree use of drug paraphernalia.
Lawson was already out on bail when he appeared in court. Auburn City Judge Thomas Shamon set bail at an $2,500 cash or bond.
Cayuga County Judge Thomas Leone reserved his decision on changing the sex offender status of an Auburn man.
James Hunter, of 5834 Lakeview Drive, Auburn, was convicted of sexually assaulting a young girl at gunpoint in August 1994.
Leone said he wanted to look over the transcript from the original status hearing before making a judgment on a status change.
An Auburn man was sentenced to one year in Cayuga County Jail for statutory rape.
Robert Decker Jr., 18, of 27 Case Ave., Apt. 2, Auburn, admitted having sex with a 12-year-old on four different occasions.
An order of protection was issued for the victim.
Consualo Sanders pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal sale of a narcotic drug.
Sanders, 23, of 42 John St., Geneva, faces six years in prison and three years post release supervision.
Sanders was put on parole Dec. 4, 2007 for second-degree assault before she was arrested for the sale of a narcotic drug in Auburn on Dec. 5, 2007.
