Stevens, Wansor pile up goals for Ice Hawks

Jack Stevens and Austin Wansor scored two goals apiece as the Auburn Ice Hawks Squirt SB team defeated Ithaca 7-2 in a hockey game Sunday.
Matt Hesse added one goal and two assists, Noah Morhiser had one goal and one assist and Michael Vitale lit the lamp once.

CJ Panek finished with 14 saves.

Josh Edwards, Macrea White, Sean Walsh and Dustin Corcoran also played well offensively.

Auburn 2, Oswego 1

Vitale and Wansor scored Auburn's goals while Morhiser dished out an assist.

Panek finished with 20 saves and was helped defensively by Vitale, Hesse and Reed Chronis.

BANTAM DIVISION

Jam Tournament

Lysander II 7, Auburn 1

John Shaw scored and Urson Lasagna provided the assist at the Ice Hawks fell in the championship game.

Auburn 4, Oswego 3

In the semifinals, Brendan King scored twice while Zach Shea and Shaw each found the net once.

Jamie Kelly, Lasagna and Connor Davenport provided assists.

Mark Bruno finished with 21 saves.

Auburn 8, Ithaca 5

In the quarterfinals, Davenport led Auburn with two goals and two assists.

Also scoring was Kyle Hlywa, Jacob Jackson, Brendan King (2) and Shaw (2).

Hlywa and Robert Warren added assists and Bruno had 35 saves.

Auburn 5, Onondaga 5

King, Davenport, Shaw, Jackson and Lasagna each scored in a second-round contest.

Mike Tarby had an assist and Bruno tallied 28 saves.

Auburn 6, Lysander II

In the opener, Lasagna had two goals and one assist and Davenport added two scores.

Hlywa (one goal, one assist), Jackson (one goal, one assist), Shaw (one assist) and King (one assist) also led the Ice Hawks.

Bruno had 21 saves.
