Cemetery data gets downloaded

Bob Oaks was in Conquest recently for a town hall meeting. I really wish more people had the time to attend because I think it is worthwhile for Mr. Oaks to hear from all of us on all sorts of issues. I think the people that came found it to be informative and engaging.
It was also good to hear some of the issues the 128th district is up against and some of the things Mr. Oaks is trying to do about some of those issues.

Bob also shared results of some of the surveys he sent out to residents of his district.

He also shared with us some of the budget issues and how they may affect our district.

I do realize a lot of people have to work during the day time hours and maybe we can talk Mr. Oaks into doing one in the evening hours sometime.

I think the turnout would be better. Bob has done a lot for Conquest and we do appreciate everything he is willing to do.

On a different note, Ted Reich has informed me that he has walked all three of the Conquest cemeteries and the software program the town board allowed him to purchase is working well.

Ted has entered all the information from our books on plots and death certificates into a software program.

Ted is going to turn the program over to our town clerk in the near future for her to manage. This is just another example of someone in Conquest giving back to our community.

A project this big would have cost taxpayers thousands of dollars to hire someone to enter all that data.

On behalf of the town board, myself and the residents of Conquest, thank you Ted, we appreciate it very much.

We will let everyone know when the file has been downloaded on the town's computer.

Charlie Knapp is supervisor for the town of Conquest.
