The WWL hired Cris Carter, formerly of HBO's Inside the NFL and dumped Sean Salisbury.
One cocky ex-jock replaces another.
And if you have HBO, check out their new Joe Louis documentary, it's well done and makes you feel bad for how Louis' life went after his boxing career.
YES should be airing some Yankee spring training games in the near future.
Gives you hope with all this snow we have on the ground -- spring is getting closer. "

If you can't watch it now, I am sure it will re-air on C-SPAN later.
What a way for the 2008 season to start.
Someone's going down, that's for sure and I think it's going to be Clemens

HBO is canning INFL after 31 years, a surprise because it's as good a sports show as any ever.
The finale shows almost 30 minutes of NFL Films highlights of last week's epic Super Bowl with some great audio.
HBO brought back Len Dawson and Nick Buoniconti for the last episode, a classy move.
You can get highlights in a lot of places but only INFL had NFL Films'.
It is a show that will be missed for now.
There is a chance it could come back on another network, we'll see what happens.
Finally, it was nice to see Dick Vitale back on ESPN, some may hate him, but I love the guy's enthusiasm.
Have a good weekend.

In the meantime, Ithaca native Paul Carpenter is leading the points in the Canadian Motocross Series.
For the next three weeks, you can catch it on Sunday afternoons at 12:00 noon on NBC (CBS?)--one of the prime time channels! "

Congrats to the Giants.
Fox was up to the task, great pictures, replays were stunning, especially Tyree's catch of the ages.
A telling shot was of injured Giants TE Jeremy Shockey in a box drinking and not on the sidelines with his teammates.
The opening was a little hokey with the reciting of the Declaration of Independence by NFL stars past and present.
I could understand if this was the first SB after Sept. 11 or if the game was being played in Philadelphia but for the money Fox pays the NFL, it can air whatever it wanted to.
Incredibly, this win may give Eli Manning more commercial opportunities than Peyton.
Eli, being a NY Giant, will be the toast of Madison Avenue. There's already one with him and Peyton licking Oreos. Yeesh!
And speaking of the commercials, I thought the best was the Coke spot with the Thanksgiving Day parade floats. Nice ending with Charlie Brown at the end.
Did you notice the girl holding the football?
The Bud Light ads were good for a chuckle, not much else.
And what about the ad with the car in a closed centrifuge that says "Do not attempt." Yeah, like we all have a centrifuge at home.
The commercial with the woman's heart popping out was gross and probably scared little children watching.
As a matter of fact, some of Fox's promos for their Terminator spinoff were inappropriate for children.
I hope none of the kiddies had nightmares.
Tide's talking stain was stupid as was Fed Ex's carrier pigeons.
Charles Barkley was humorous for T-Mobile.
I liked the Bud ad with the horse training like Rocky.
Shaq as a jockey was OK for Vitamin Water.
And the talking baby for e-trade, what was that? We've seen those before (Quiznos) and the spitting up was gross.
The Night at the Roxbury ad for Diet Pepsi Max was good.
Some of these companies feel since they're spending so much money, they have to go all out.
Make an ad that stands out but also you remember what the product is and without grossing out your audience.
I can't go into every spot but feel free to comment on what you liked and disliked about the SB broadcast and commercials.
One last thing, I love Reebok's Perfectville.
