An Auburn man faces five years in state prison for a pair of assaults.
James Scott, 25 of 144 Van Anden St., Auburn, pleaded guilty in Cayuga County Court Thursday to two counts of second-degree assault and faces two concurrent five year terms for the assault of a fellow inmate at the Cayuga County Jail and for another assault in March 2007.
Scott's uncle, Marvin Scott, let out a flood of expletives and stormed out of the courtroom after hearing the proposed prison sentence.
After having Marvin Scott returned to the courtroom, Cayuga County Judge Thomas Leone told him that if he did not apologize for his outburst that he would spend a night in jail.
Marvin Scott then apologized for what he had said.
Leone scheduled sentencing for James Scott for April 17.
