State police in Auburn are looking for the public's assistance in finding a rare shotgun that was stolen last September.
The gun, a 20-gauge over-and-under Huglu Model 103DE, was stolen from an Aurelius resident along with a brown leather case and seven chokes.

Handcrafted in Turkey, the stolen gun was worth more than $1,000. NYSP Investigator Joel Pinker said he believes the thief or thieves knew what they were getting.

“It's a very unique and very unusual shotgun,” Pinker said. “It's definitely not common and I am hoping someone has seen it or heard about it and can tell us.”

Pinker is asking anyone with any information to the whereabouts of the gun to contact him at 253-3103.
