Mike Leveille and Greg Niewieroski combined for all four of Syracuse's goals in the decisive third period as the No. 8 Orange men's lacrosse team handed Army an 8-7 loss at the Carrier Dome Sunday.
Army head coach and Auburn native Joe Alberici couldn't duplicate his success from last season, when the Black Knights knocked off the second-ranked Orange.

With the win, Syracuse has won 12 of its last 13 meetings with Army.

Jordan-Elbridge graduate Kyle Guadagnolo had two ground balls for the Orange (2-0) while Auburn grad Adam Hansinger had one ground ball for the Black Knights (1-1).

SU freshman goalie John Galloway made six saves in the win.
