The former Cayuga County worker who pleaded guilty to illegally removing asbestos from a county building in 2006 again has had his sentencing postponed.
The U.S. Attorney's Office said Thursday morning that John Chick's sentencing, which has been scheduled for Feb. 20, has been moved to 11 a.m. March 6 because the judge in the case is sick.
Until a few weeks ago, Chick had remained on the county payroll as a suspended employee, but he was terminated Jan. 25 after a lengthy civil service process. He pleaded guilty to federal charges in January 2007, but sentencing has been delayed multiple times since then.
