Auburn revamps dog ordinance
AUBURN -- Officials have taken some bite out of and added some bark to a revised dog ordinance proposed by the city of Auburn.
Members of the city council were given copies of the new version of the ordinance during Thursday's council meeting. A work session, during which council members were to discuss the ordinance, was postponed to a later date so that councilors would be able to review the revisions.
The updated ordinance differs from the original draft in a number of ways. It no longer contains breed-specific language, as the earlier version contained regulations pertaining to pit bulls and Dobermans. It also increased the fees for violations - from $20, $30, $50 and $100 for the first, second, third and fourth-plus citations, to $25, $50 and $100 for the first, second and third-plus citations.
