Lakers advance to sectional finals

Keith Buehler scored twice and Matt Wood added the winning shot with 2:07 remaining to lift the Skaneateles boys hockey team to a 3-2 Section III, Division II semifinals win over No. 2 Clinton on Wednesday.

The Division II West top-seeded Lakers advance to the Section III finals for the first time in four years. They will play the No. 1 team in Division II East, Whitesboro, at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Utica Proctor high school.

Clinton's Chris Snyder put his team within one when he scored on a scrum in front of the net with 18.7 seconds left in the game, but the Lakers held on to take the win. The Warriors had bounced the Lakers out of the playoffs in each of the last three seasons.
