Undefeated St. Francis won the CYO seventh and eighth grade championship by defeating St. Mary's I 36-32.
St. Francis ended the regular season 12-0 and lost team member Nick Camardo to an injury. He was unable to play in the championship game.
St. Mary's had the lead early 15-7 in the first quarter but St. Francis rallied back on defense to take the win. Jimmy Spinelli, Tommy Stanton, Anthony Faiola and Greg VanDerwerff played well defensively, shutting down St. Mary's for the rest of the game.
The game was sealed with Kurt Blackman's clutch free throws down the stretch for St. Francis. Leading St. Francis, Dylan Powers scored 12 points and Matt Condes added 10 points.
St. Mary's was paced by Joe Wilson who contributed 23 points.
CCYO FIFTH GRADE BOYS
Auburn III Five Star Bank 42, Skaneateles I 29
Auburn was lead by Nick Petrosino who scored 15 points, Kevin DiCola contributed 11 points and Tony D'Arpino tallied 10 points.
Trent Lawrence and Mike O'Hearn also played well for Auburn.
Skaneateles was paced by Jacob Peterson with five points while Ryan Whitley and Billy Patrick each contributed four points.
Children's Health Specialists 40, Arnold's Restaurant 25
Hakeem Ali led Children's Health Specialists in a come-from-behind win with 15 points, 13 of which came in the second half.
Also scoring for Children's Health Specialists was Jordan Middleton who poured in eight points.
Scoring for Arnold's was Brytan Knapp who tallied 13 points and Cody Stock finished with 10 points.
SIXTH GRADE BOYS
Corey Insulation 42, Pit Stop Convenience Store 35
Mike Charles led Corey Insulation with 26 points.
David Perez and Brandon Titius played strong defensively for Corey Insulation team.
Leading Pit Stop was Michael Taylor who scored 11 points and Bradley Wasilenko who finished with 10 points in the loss.
