Cato-Meridian's Dom Giacolone won the Class D championship in the 96-pound weight while competing at the Section III, Class D wrestlingchampionships Saturday.
Cato-Meridian finished second as a team with 210 points, missing out on first place by half a point to Sandy Creek.
Nick LaLone (140), Brandon Bosco (160) and Austin Lee (275) were also sectional champs for the Blue Devils. Marc Walton (145) took second place.
Allen Holdridge (112), Darin Fellows (130), Ethan Holt (152), Josh Winks (171) and Seth Trapp (189) all finished in third place.
Pat Walton (125) and Caleb Wallace (135) both finished in fifth place.
The Blue Devils will send Giacolone, LaLone, Bosco, Lee, Walton, Holdridge, Fellows, Holt, Winks and Trapp to state qualifiers next weekend.
For Port Byron, Caleb Green (96) took second place. Zac Green (171) came in second place also. Tyler Wellington (103), Mike Borst (119) and Christian Cobb (130) all placed fifth for the Panthers.
Port Byron finished ninth overall (56 points)
“This was a big improvement for us compared to last year.” Panthers coach Tom Green said. “We had more kids qualify for this event then last year.”
Caleb Green and Zac Green will both compete at state qualifiers in Cicero-North Syracuse Saturday.

Section IV, Division II championships
Union Springs, eighth
Vinnie Salato led the Wolves in the 55-yard dash, placing second overall (6.79) and sixth in the shot put (36-10).
Matt Heindl led the Wolves in the 55m hurdles taking fourth place (9.79).
J.P. Garropy also placed sixth in the 55m hurdles (10.01) and fifth in the triple jump (37-1.25). Brandon Winter came in fourth in the 300m (38.72).
