Wells College has made the honor roll.

The Corporation for National and Community Service has placed the college in Aurora on the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for exemplary service learning programs.

Wells is among 528 schools recognized.

Established in 2006, the Community Service Honor Roll recognizes colleges and universities nationwide that support innovative and effective community service and service-learning programs. It is the highest federal recognition a school can achieve for its commitment to service learning and civic engagement.

The honor roll is a program of the Corporation for National and Community Service, a federal agency that fosters a sense of civic engagement through service and volunteering.

“I am delighted that Wells College has been nationally recognized for our commitment to community service,” Wells President Lisa Marsh Ryerson said in a news release. “Wells has long been a leader in instilling the principles of community service in students as we provide opportunities for their active involvement, both domestically and abroad.”
