The January arrest of an Auburn man on sexual abuse and child pornography charges has lead to the arrest of another city man, Auburn police said Thursday.
Auburn Police Department detectives on Wednesday charged Paul C. Hoffman, 36, of 1 Barber St., with possessing child pornography on his personal computer.
Police said the charges resulted from an investigation into Robert L. Smith, 32, of 141 Van Anden St., who was charged Jan. 16 with two counts of possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child.
Smith was additionally charged on Jan. 23 with first-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.
Police said Hoffman was arrested in the area of 1 Barber St., Auburn, at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday and charged with four counts of possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child. He was arraigned at Auburn City Court before being remanded to the Cayuga County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
