All right, so the new semester has started and we are just getting into the swing of things here on campus. There have been a few small events going on but nothing too big yet. The bigger events are coming more toward the middle of the semester.
We held our spirit week for the basketball team last week.

During this we had a different theme for each day. It varied from school spirit day, to Hawaiian day and even a pajama day. Many of the students participated in each day's activities. It was a great success and the basketball teams also showed that they were very appreciative of everything that our group did.

The next event that the Student Activities Board crew is going to put on is “The Dating Game.” This game is going to be played like the old newlywed game with three couples. The winning couple will receive a gift certificate for a nice romantic dinner and then they will also be guest of honor at the Sweetheart Dance that will be held tonight. We are hoping that this will be a good start to the new semester of events to come.

The SAB also has a ski trip planned - it was supposed to be held Feb. 9, but it has now been moved to March 1, due to poor skiing conditions. We are hoping that putting it off will help it be a better weekend.

The third annual flea market is the first big event of the year. Last year it was a huge success, and we are hoping for the same turnout this year. This starts at 10 a.m. Saturday and lasts until 4 p.m. and is free to the public. We invite everyone to come out and see what treasure you can find.

The next big event that we have going is a lecture and performance by Yewande. The shows are: Feb. 25, the lecture being at 11 a.m. and then the performance concert at 7 p.m. in the college theater. This event is also free for the students that have ID.

That's all the events that are going to be held in the month of February. Look for the upcoming events on the SAB calendar; if you would like more information about any of these events feel free to call 255-1743 and ask for Norman Lee.

Hope to see you all at these exciting upcoming events.
