The city of Auburn will hold a public hearing Tuesday concerning the possibility of the city taking control of its ambulance service.
The hearing will focus on the Auburn Fire Department's recent application to the Central New York EMS Regional Council for municipal conversion of its ambulance operation certificate.
The city has a two-year license to operate emergency medical care and is currently contracted with TLC Emergency Medical Services Inc. to provide its ambulance service.
That license will expire in April.
Auburn fire officials have said that TLC will continue to operate the service even if the certificate is granted.
The public hearing is scheduled to take place at 7:30 p.m. in city council chambers at Auburn City Hall, 24 South St.
