WATERLOO -- An upstate New York undersheriff is going to prison for his part in thefts and misconduct that rocked the Seneca County Sheriff's Department last year.
Former Undersheriff James Larson pleaded guilty in Seneca County Court late Wednesday and was sentenced to 21 months in prison.
He was charged with grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and official misconduct. Larson was accused of stealing items from the department including a shot gun and soda machine. He also was accused of having other staff members charge blank DVDs to a county credit card and drive to his house to pick up pornographic DVD's to copy them.
Former Seneca County Sheriff Leo Connolly and four deputies are also charged in the scandal.
