According to the Auburn Police Department, Christopher M. Verdi, 25, of 65 East Genesee St., Apt. 2, has been charged with third-degree rape and child endangerment. Police said that he allegedly had sex in the late summer of 2006 with a 15-year-old girl in the city of Auburn.
The arrest came as a result of a joint investigation between the APD and the state police in Ithaca, where investigators said the alleged incident was first reported.
Verdi was remanded Tuesday to Cayuga County Jail, where he is being held without bail, according to police.

Does the accuser get punished if it is found to be a false accusation. I certainly hope so for all that the family is going through because all of the family will pay a high price for this!!!!!!
