AUBURN -- The Auburn Enlarged City School District has some early numbers when it comes to the 2008-09 budget.
District Business Administrator Marianne O'Connor presented to the board of education Tuesday some key trends and statistics when it comes to the budget over the last five years as well as projected state aid for the upcoming school year.
The general fund budget has increased over the last five years, O'Connor said, from $51.5 million in the 2003-04 school year to $63.4 for 2007-08.
School enrollment has decreased over that period, going from 4,911 in 2003-04 to 4,674 in 2007-08.
Eventually, the decrease in enrollment will affect the amount of state aid the school receives, O'Connor said. She attributed the decrease in enrollment to people moving out of the district and smaller incoming classes.
