A wind advisory for all of Cayuga County remains in effect Sunday, while the northern half of the county is under a lake effect snow and blowing snow advisory.
The National Weather Service said the snow advisory runs from 1 to 5 a.m. Monday. The lake effect snow will develop east of Lake Ontario during the day Sunday, then shift to the southeast shoreline late Sunday into Monday.

Snow totals could reach 4 to 8 inches. Combined with heavy winds, forecasters are warning that whiteout conditions are likely.

The wind advisory affects the entire county. It has been issued through midnight.

The National Weather Service said winds will reach sustained speeds of 20 to 30 mph during the afternoon, with gusts up to 50 mph during the evening.

Wind chills could dip as low as -11 degrees, as a result.

Winds like these can cause minor property damages, and drivers of high-profile vehicles are advised to be extra cautious.
