This letter is in reference to the bomb scare that took place at Auburn High School on Monday, Jan. 28.
Many concerned citizens like myself are asking why wasn't there an evacuation of everyone? Why were students and faculty locked in the school for three hours, then released 30 minutes before regular school dismissal? I know Auburn Police were rapid in responding and bomb dogs were there.
I feel the Auburn school board has a huge responsibility to let the public know why this decision was made? Fortunately, everything turned out for the good. But what if the school district made the wrong decision and it was a bomb?
I would rather their motto be safe not sorry later!
