An Auburn man was arrested last week on charges that he received, possessed and distributed images of child pornography, according to records with the U.S. District Court in Syracuse.
John Reese was charged following a joint investigation that included, among others, the FBI, Buffalo Police Department and the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office, according to a criminal complaint.

Court papers state that Reese received and distributed images through a file sharing program, and that he also possessed a compact disc with child pornographic images.

The arrest followed the execution of a search warrant on Friday at Reese's 241 Seymour St. residence.

" I live one street over from him, and I have a 3rd degree sex- offender(which is the highest to reoffend)owning the house next door. We are right across from a Catholic school, and very close to a public school. The local police say as long as he is not still on parole he can be anywhere that he wants. This is just WRONG!!!!!!! "

" I wish before you all jump to conclusions you'd know the facts. File sharing is as much to blame if not more so. You want to give someone more time than a rapist, murderer, or child molester. Federal goverment or not, THIS IS DEAD WRONG! And I AM a MOTHER OF THREE!! "

" The distibution in this case reflects file sharing on Limewire, they should be held somewhat accountable, why didnt they filter this kind of stuff from getting out there. The madatory minimum for this does not even fit the crime-a child molester gets less time than someone looking at pictures. "

" As the mother of two little girls, a HUGE thank you to all law enforcement agencies involved in these arrests. May I repeat, a HUGE thank you. Some of these losers can become or are child molesters so lets identify them and get them behind bars for as long as we can. Great Job!!! "
