Education system too neoconservative

Wednesday, February 6, 2008 11:44 AM EST

President Bush and the neoconservatives keep pushing the failed “no child left behind” program, affectionately known to educators as “no child gets ahead.”
This is an attempt by the neocons to destroy the public education system in this country, in favor of privatizing education.

Under the neocons, our standards have dropped too low, our students in international competition placed 27th in math, 32nd in science.

There was a time when we were number one. We need to get away from social engineering and back to the business of education.

" Double Dumb is vomiting opinion that makes no sense. Bill Clinton tried to get every student an opportunity for affordable college education. Bush raised interest on college loans and cut funding for Pell grants. He instituted a program and gave it zero funding. He cut local aid to state governments and their reduced resources have put a strain on education funding requiring them to go to cash strapped taxpayers. He transfered these funds to tax cuts for the wealthy that these people never asked for. "

" Ronnie--no one is intentionally trying to ruin the educational system. What an idiotic statement. There may be many faluires in any system put into place, but even while your beloved Clinton was in the white house, I don't recall there being anything better in place. I guess I can continue to call you Wonnie Wetard. "
