The St. Regis Mohawk Tribe says Empire Resorts has "abandoned" their joint casino project at Monticello Raceway.
The tribe says it will take legal action against its Monticello-based investment partner for breaching their gaming agreement.

The Mohawks say they received a letter from Empire officials on Tuesday telling them of their decision to pull out of the $600 million development.

The Mohawks say Empire wants to enter into a casino deal with a competing gaming interest to move the raceway and its gambling operations to a different location.

There was no immediate comment from Empire officials.
