The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather statement regarding a prolonged period of rain that is supposed to settle into most of central New York starting after midnight Tuesday.
According to the NWS, steadier and heavier rains could come Tuesday night and early Wednesday.
The potential for more than an inch of rain exists. With melting ice and snow adding to the mix, area rivers and streams could rise substantially.
