On Tuesday, Jan, 8, my brother, Jim Haskell was critically injured in a “freak” automobile accident in the city of Auburn. He was transported to Auburn Memorial Hospital and then to Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. Jim remains in ICU at Upstate with very serious internal injuries. His recovery is very slow, but steady.
My family and I would like to thank the Auburn Fire Department, Auburn City Ambulance, Auburn Memorial Hospital, Auburn Police Department and Mercy Flight Central. Were it not for the professionalism, dedication and expertise of these first-responders, I don't know if my brother would be here today.
We would also like to thank all of Jim's neighbors on Woodlawn Avenue. Terri, Scott, Lisa, George, Gary, Rosemarie and others I have not met. We appreciate all of your help and prayers and your concern for Jim. Special thanks to Matt Bartolotta for his concern, compassion and friendship in this most difficult time.
We are hoping that through this message, Jim's Auburn area friends will keep him in their thoughts and prayers. Messages may also be sent to Jim through the Caring Bridge web site. The site address is www.caringbridge.org. At the home page, enter the web site name “jimhaskell” (all one word) and click on “guestbook” to leave a message. Updates on Jim's condition will be posted when needed. Thank you for all for your assistance and concern. May God bless you all.
