Auburn Memorial Hospital has some new leadership and financial gains.
Besides electing new officers to its Board of Trustees, AMH on Wednesday reported an operational gain of $1 million for 2007, with a January volume ahead of budget, as reported by John Baran, chief financial officer.

The AMH Board of Trustees elected David R. Smith as its chairman and Eric R. Allyn as its vice chairman.

Smith, who replaces Robert K. Bergan as board chairman, is vice president and general manager of Nucor Steel, Auburn. Allyn, replacing Elane Daly as the board's vice chairman, is vice president of International Business Development & Branding at Welch Allyn Inc. of Skaneateles Falls.

Trustees Peter J. Emerson, director and past president of the Fred L. Emerson Foundation Inc., and Joseph P. Bartolotta, senior associate with Gilberti Stinziano Heintz & Smith, P.C. in Syracuse, were also elected to the board for three-year terms.

They replace Paul Hickey and Nancy Karpinski, respectively.

Karen E. Lockwood, branch services manager of AmeriCU Credit Union, Auburn, was re-elected treasurer, and Gail S. Homick, executive director of United Way of Cayuga County, was re-elected secretary.

Elected to third terms on the Board of Trustees were Dr. David M. White and Homick.

Daly, representing Cayuga County, will serve a three-year term.

Dr. John Riccio, newly elected president of the AMH medical staff, will replace Dr. Saul Rosenblum's position on the Board.
