Auburn police arrested four Auburn men Thursday on accusations that the men of beat and robbed a 27-year-old man.
According to the Auburn Police Department, Rondell T. Smith, 26, of 9 Parker St.; Michael C. Moultrie, 24, of 35 Quill Ave.; Robert M. Doyle III, 24, of 6 Seminary St.; and Jared O. Elliott, 27, of 35 Grant St. have all been charged with second-degree robbery. Smith has also been charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, and Elliott has been charged with a parole violation, according to police.
The men allegedly knocked a man to the ground early Thursday morning outside of the Genesee Garden Apartments, punched and kicked him before stealing a cell phone, a wallet and cash from the man's pockets, as well as jewelry he was wearing, police said.
Police officials said that the four men were drinking Wednesday night in the same Auburn bar as the alleged victim, who told police he did not know them prior to the incident. According to the APD, the suspects were found at a residence on Seminary Street, and most of the property has been recovered.
