Auburn will again play host to the NCAA Division III Baseball Regionals at Falcon Park.
The regionals will begin on Wednesday, May 14 and conclude on Sunday, May 18.
Sites are normally awarded in March or April so the early announcement will provided for more time to prepare for the event.
“We certainly are looking to do much more than we have in the past to promote the event to the region,” Doubledays General Manager Carl Gutelius said in a press release. “It is great baseball and you will never see the game played with more energy and enthusiasm than during this tournament. It certainly helps that we have had a number of local teams and players involved over the years.”
Both Cortland University and Ithaca College had participated in the tournament in the five previous years it has been held at Falcon Park.
Other area teams such as St. John Fisher and St. Lawrence have participated in the tournament in past seasons.
