A Brutus woman was arrested Monday on charges she was picking up fraudulent prescriptions, the Auburn Police Department reported.
Police have charged Virginia M. Sherman, 41, of 12 Daisy Lane, Brutus, with first and second-degree criminal impersonation and fourth-degree attempted criminal diversion of prescription medications.

According to the APD, Sherman allegedly called the Walgreens Pharmacy, 150 Grant Ave., posing as an employee at a local physician's office, and used the name of a relative to request prescriptions for pain medication.

Sherman was released Monday, and is schedule to appear today in Auburn City Court.
