The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for much of the region, including all of Cayuga County, for Wednesday.
The warning is in effect from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
The NWS said a strong cold front will produce sustained winds of 25 to 40 mph, with gusts of 50 to 60 mph.
High wind warnings signify the potential for damage to trees and power lines. People are advised to stay indoors and away from windows, and be prepared for power outages.
