A more ‘Christ-like' society would benefit all

Saturday, January 26, 2008 11:06 PM EST

All kinds of people make up the society we live in. There are the rich, the not so rich, the poor, the powerful, the not so powerful and the weak.
There are different types of people also. There's the moody, the mean-spirited, the spoiled, the snooty, the snobby, the selfish, the generous, the well-meaning, the stubborn and bullies out of control.

Put them all together and what do you have? Well, most certainly, it amounts to anything but a stable society.

Now here's a question for the ages. If all the people in our society were just well-meaning, generous and kind, would our society as a whole be better off or not?

Personally, I could do without those who are snooty, snobby, selfish, stubborn, uncaring, mean-spirited and bullies out of control. Since none of these types typify Jesus Christ, I'd say they do society irreparable harm. Certainly no one can reasonably argue that a more Christ-like society would not only put us in good standing with our Creator, but with our fellow man as well.

Bad habits are obviously the works of the devil. Anything un-Christ-like is. Nothing good comes from anything bad in our society. Outside of the church service, very rarely does anyone ever talk about God. Very rarely does anyone ever talk about what our Creator would really like us to talk about, and that is a great God-like society. In that great society, meanness and selfishness and the “I'm better than you are” attitude do not exist. In a great society, smiles and friendliness replace frowns and mean-spiritedness. In a great society politicians are more Christ-like and strive for only the good for all they are supposed to represent.

There can be little doubt that a great society being created would be a little more like Heaven on Earth. Living on this earth is serious business. Living the way our Creator masterminded, gets us on that Highway to Heaven.

" You don't want the attitude I'm better than you but you are saying that a Christ-like person is better than one who is not Christ-like? Does that make you a hypocrite? And who are you to judge? "

" Its not even being Christlike that would make this world a better place. How about respect? How about asking yourself if your comment or action will benefit anyone other than yourself? How about asking yourself if your comment or action will have an adverse affect on someone else? Being Christlike has nothing to do with nothing. "

" How did I just KNOW when I read the title of this letter that it was Murray Lynch's again?
Right now I'm listening to Bon Scott singing "I'm on a hiiiiiiighway to hell! (bahm, bahm) Hiiiiighway to hell...."!
Sing it Murray! "
