Devon Brady scored 20 points and came down with five boards, despite not playing in the fourth quarter, as the Union Springs boys basketball team defeated Marathon, 69-35 on Friday.

Julius McClary helped out with 18 points and led the team with 11 rebounds. Mike Bean and Nick Schooley each finished with nine points.

The Wolves have been playing consistent defense in the second half of this season and executing their game plan as Brady hit four 3-pointers.

“Brady played very well from the perimeter.” Wolves coach Tim Darnell said. “He was knocking down a lot of shots and even opening up shots for his teammates.”

Having two standouts like Brady and McClary has given Union Springs a huge advantage, since it forces opponents to focus solely on them and open up other talents such as Schooley and Bean.

“You basically have to pick your poison.” Darnell said.

The Wolves (13-2 overall, 7-0 league) travel to Groton on Tuesday. Groton is in second place in Section IV, Division III IAC, two games behind Union Springs.
