Republican voters brought recession on themselves

Friday, January 25, 2008 11:54 PM EST

I for one am sick of hearing upper class Republican voters belly-aching about the coming recession. They got what they voted for.
They're the ones making excuses for the neocons and supporting them. They brought it on themselves.

" Well said, Farmer's Gal!

They have destroyed this economy. 3 decades of this is enough. Not that the Democrats are much better - the whole system has been corrupted by big business and they own both parties. "

" Oh my gosh! Karl L and I agree. Lets just understand that when we have a good economy tax revenues increase and the opposite occurs when we are in recession. So the conventional wisdom is that by letting people keep more of their earnings they will spend more, the economy will grow and tax revenues will increase. Get It? "

" ...and giving the taxpayers a $500 rebate at a time like this is akin to giving the kids money for the X-Box system when the rent is two weeks overdue---stoooooopid!!! "

" The country is in debt, the budget running in a deficit and we are going to cut a check to every taxpaying American out of what checkbook??!?? I need a checkbook like the governments that never reaches to $0. Doesn't it come to anyone's minds that the upcoming refund is going to cost us more than $600 in the future? I am not an politician or an accountant so any thoughts are appreciated. "

" I agree 'rd' every business cannot expect to be UP 24/7..its basically supply and demand. At Xmas the demand is for toys and electronics, at Easter its eggs and food coloring, right now its chocolates in red heart boxes! Sometimes consumers spend and sometimes they save-it all depends on the day not a government. "

" Dear people, recessions are all part of the normal business cycle and if you had any kind of economic literacy you would be able to understand that. Instead you will use any natural occurence to demonstrate your irrational hatred of Bush and Republicans. You all must be happy because you know what causes bliss. "
