The tax rebate proposal is an admission that taxes are too high.
More money in the hands of the consumer is the stimulus that the economy needs.
Make the stimulus permanent by making the tax cuts permanent.
The demand for tax dollars is driven by the supply of government, the reverse of the principle that disciplines the private sector, the engine of prosperity in America.
This oversized, inefficient government is a drag on the economy. Every Democrat in the presidential race is calling for more oversized, inefficient government to remedy the problems caused by oversized, inefficient government.
The definition of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
The “change” that we need is a much smaller government at all levels - state, local and federal.
There would be corresponding growth in the private sector because more scarce capital would be available for “growing” a larger economy.
You cannot have a large, inefficient government competing with the private sector for the rewards of the economic system and expect it to work. You cannot and should not fund large, inefficient government through the sacrifices made by the hard work and efficiency of the private sector.
It flies in the face of all the principles this great nation was founded upon.
Thomas Jefferson said, “A wise and frugal government ... that does not take bread from the mouths of labor that has earned it, this is the sum of good government.” I most heartily agree.

This military spending is WAY OUT OF HAND, and is so wasteful and fraught with fraud and abuse it is insane.
You won't hear this issue discussed on the NBC evening news though, cause it's parent company GE wouldn't like that since they profit enormously from it. Can you say "Conflict of Interest"? They use our own PUBLIC AIRWAVES to propagandize us and keep the public uniformed of the truth.
Every citizen should be OUTRAGED at what is going on here. If not on moral grounds, at least financial. This discussion probably wouldn't be an issue if they weren't stealing more than half of the money we pay in federal income taxes to go to this insanity.
That's just my two cents. "

OK, Einstein; tell me this--where the hell is all the money going to come from to pay Social Security, bridge repair, Veteran's Services, etc, etc, etc???...just another selfish-hearted person who doesn't have an ounce of compassion to match their lack of brains!
What do you propose, rd and David? Just ask the Rich to give a little more at the Salvation Army kettle?
And furthermore, the tax rebates are called DEFICIT SPENDING! You think that money they're giving away for nothing grows on trees? It'll ALL HAVE TO BE PAID BACK, EVENTUALLY by the TAXPAYERS! "

Lets start with THEIR free lunches & fancy dinners, using limos instead of cabs, free air travel, have THEM pay for 1/2 their medical like we do, and most of all when they don't show up to work DAILY then deduct that from THEIR PAY!
with 500+ in congress thats alot of monies to be used for a war, the homeless, and citizens of the US! "
