Southern Cayuga girls basketball can't hold on in OT

Deanna Drake led the Moravia girls basketball team, as she hit four three-pointers and picked up 16 points in a thrilling 51-50 overtime win over Southern Cayuga on Wednesday..
Also scoring for the Blue Devils was Ashley Shea who finished the game with 12 points after successfully sinking two three-point shots.

The Chiefs put up a good fight despite the loss, with top scoring coming from Lianna May, who tallied 19 points. Stephanie Morse ending the game with 10 points.

The Chiefs will get another attempt at defeating the Blue Devils as they meet with them again in Moravia on Friday.

Port Byron 62, Tyburn Academy 23

Leading the Panthers was Shelby Gilbert with 18 points, six assists and four steals.

Also scoring for the Panthers were Kaitlynne Knapp with 12 points and six blocks, and Melissa Deyo with 10 points and six steals.

Tyburn Academy's lead scorer was Emily Blunskin, with 12 points.

The Panthers (7-7) will meet up with their league rival Weedsport on Monday.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Syracuse Academy of Science 71, Weedsport 68, OT

Syracuse Academy of Science shocked the Warriors with a last-second shot in overtime. A close game ensued as the Warriors struggled defensively and could not control the game.

Synike White led Syracuse Academy of Sciences, earning 19 points.

The Warriors (9-6) host Tyburn Academy on Friday.

HOCKEY

Skaneateles 5, Fulton 1

Anthony Navaroli led the Lakers scoring two goals.

Also scoring for the Lakers, was Keith Buehler and Erik Stevens who both earned one goal and one assist.

Tory Cole recorded one goal and Kaj Beck-Anderson ended the game with two assists.

Lakers goalie Alex Richichi had seven saves.

Skaneateles 10, Central Square 2

Sean Morley scored the first goal of the game and added an assist for the Lakers in a game on Tuesday.

The top scorer for the Lakers was Drake Hill with three goals and one assist. Zach Augustine and Josh Rathgeb scored one goal each,

Jacob Bird and Keith Buehler brought in one goal and two assists apiece, Kaj Beck-Anderson and Tory Cole earned one goal and one assist each, Dylan VanHoltz helped out with three assists and Anthony Navaroli grabbed one assist to finish the game.

Laker goalie Scott Bruening finished the game with four saves and Alex Richichi ended up with ten saves.
