The Cato-Meridian volleyball team couldn't serve it up to Faith Heritage as they were defeated 3-0 on Wednesday.

The first set was a close one as Faith Heritage won 25-21, but the Blue Devils never managed to keep them down. The Saints took the next two sets 25-17 and 25-19, shutting out the Blue Devils at home.
Leading Faith Heritage and playing all three games were Liz Mancuso bringing in seven kills and three aces and Laura Ballard earning two kills, six aces and two assists.
In spite of their loss, the Blue Devils had good performing from Megan Post, who finished with three aces, two assists, one block and nine digs. Also scoring were Nicole Champion with one assist, six kills and three digs in three sets, Vicki Davis in all three sets earned three aces, five assists and three digs, Ruth Kazulak pulling in two aces, two kills, two blocks and a dig.
Megan O'Keefe played through two sets and finishing with one ace and four kills, Kelly Hunter took home one ace and two kills in two sets and Janea Parsons added four assists and two digs to the stat sheet after playing all three sets.
“It was a hard fought battle that came down to serving,” Blue Devils coach Eric Vollmer said. “Faith Heritage had some strong servers and both teams really played their hearts out.”
The Blue Devils are struggling this season with their record now 2-11, but they have lost some really close games. One in particular they may have a chance to try again. The last time the Blue Devils faced Port Byron, they lost in five games in a close battle.
They will have another chance at the Panthers again in Cato-Meridian on Wednesday.
