AUBURN -- An Auburn man was arrested early Thursday morning on charges he drove into a building while he was drunk and fled the scene, police said.
According to the Auburn Police Department, Jayme Cleveland, 35, of 56 North Division St., allegedly ran his Chevrolet sport utility vehicle into Nice Worx Smoke Shop on 69 Franklin St. at approximately 4:30 a.m before driving from the scene and striking a telephone pole on Lewis Street. Police said he was located in his vehicle a short time after the collision near 90 Chapman Ave.
Cleveland is charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and a second DWI, both misdemeanors, as well as leaving the scene of an accident and aggravated unlicensed operation. Police officials said that Cleveland is also currently on parole.
