As the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail celebrates our 25th year as a wine trail and the first in New York state, stop by and purchase your first commemorative wine glass as part of a four part-series. The 18.5 ounce glass displaying our 25th anniversary logo also exhibits the first part of our branding slogan: See It! Taste It! Live It! Love It!
In addition we will sell personalized corkscrews and a T-shirt displaying not only our slogan but listing all the names of the wineries.

New for 2008 is our revised Vino Visa Coupon Book, a great value worth more than $250. Each of the wineries is offering either a free tasting, discounts on wine purchases or free merchandise.

Additionally 16 associates of the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail, such as accommodations, attractions, dining and transportation services, are proposing discounts to make your winery experience complete. In Auburn, A Wicher Garden Bed & Breakfast is offering $20 off any two-night weekday stay while the Inn at the Finger Lakes is presenting $20 off its published rate.

Join us on Ground Hog Day to celebrate Mardi Gras from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2. This year we're starting the event an hour earlier so you'll have plenty of time to visit the east side wineries. When you visit King Ferry and Long Point wineries you'll receive a festive Mardi Gras mask plus another Mardi Gras gift. When you arrive at each winery you'll receive beads, taste fine wines, delight in tasting delicious foods plus take home incredible recipes. At each of the 16 wineries random prize drawings are given throughout the weekend and everyone receives a souvenir wine glass. Create your own Mardi Gras costume and you may become our sixth King and Queen of Mardi Gras.

During this event each winery on the Cayuga Wine Trail serves food reminiscent of New Orleans. Bellwether Hard Cider will be serving its famous Mardi Gras Beignets. Experience the southern flavor of Cajun Roast Pork Loin with Creole Mustard Cream Sauce at Knapp Winery and Vineyard Restaurant. Thirsty Owl Wine Co. is serving Spicy Seared Chicken on Mardi Gras Rice, and Hosmer Winery will be serving Cheesy Cajun Cups. It wouldn't be Mardi Gras without New Orleans Crab Spread at King Ferry Winery, and visitors can savor the flavors at Six Mile Creek Vineyard enjoying its Veggie Gumbo.

Participants are eligible to win one of our three grand prizes by making sure to hand in their ticket at the last winery they visit. Advance tickets are $20 and designated driver tickets are available.

Other events during February include our Valentine events the weekend of the 9th and 10th. Cobblestone Farm Winery will delight with its Sweet Sensation Weekend. Goose Watch Winery has a Be Mine With Red Wine event, and Americana Vineyards will hosts its Chocolate Wine and Roses event.

On Valentine's Day, Six Mile Creek Vineyard is giving out complimentary chocolate all day and personalized Valentine's labels.

Treat your special someone to a romantic evening of amazing food, wine and dancing at Knapp Winery and Vineyard Restaurant Feb. 16. During the same weekend visit Bellwether Hard Cider and enjoy food pairings with its Cherry Street Hard Cider to warm even the heart of President George Washington, and at Six Mile Creek Vineyard, improve your palate and wine knowledge at a special class for both the seasoned and novice wine lover.

See you there.
